First, I would like to set aside any arguments that have to do with the current budget woes of the USPS.
In Friday’s edition of the Alligator, a description of the Arizona immigration law said that police officers have the right to stop or arrest anyone in the state they think may be an illegal immigrant. The sentence should have read that police officers have the right to determine the immigration status of anyone they stop or arrest for a separate offense if they have reason to believe that person may be an illegal immigrant.
