Gators extend lead: UF 16 Miami 3

Give an assist to the refs on this one. On 3rd and 9 Tim Tebow launched a ball to the right sideline, which Carl Moore caught, but it was initially ruled an incompletion. Then the call was overtuned, and the Gators had the ball on the Hurricanes 5 yard line. After a Tebow incompletion and a Kestahn Moore run for no gain, Tebow threw a ball to Percy Harvin in the endzone and got an interference call. With three shots to get just two yards, the Gators finally scored on 3rd down as Tebow optioned to Harvin and he strutted into the endzone.

Gators keep building the lead: UF 23-Miami 3

There's the Louis Murphy who smack talked last weekend. Murphy finally woke up and just hauled in a 19-yard touchdown after making another big catch the play before. The Gators sleeping offense has finally started to stir, and the Hurricanes offense pretty much has to get on the scoreboard some how this drive if they want to come back in this one.

That was easy: UF-7-Miami 0

Welcome back, Aaron Hernandez. After a 14-yard shanked punt by Miami, the Gators capitalized with a five-play drive that ended with UF's sophomore tight end catching a Tim Tebow pass in the endzone. Hernandez missed the season opener for undisclosed reasons. Tebow looked like he was about to get sacked, but Tebow being Tebow, he got away from the 'Canes linemen and lofted one a few yards deep in the endzone to an open Hernandez.

Second quarter update: UF 7-Miami 3

It was from 50 yards, but Matt Bosher nailed it. Miami grinded out a 16-play drive in 8:42 and only got a long field goal, but they're on the board. Some gutsy plays by the Hurricanes, but UF's defense actually looked pretty solid. Especially when compared to last year

Spikes, Harvin on field and looking good

Brandon Spikes just jumped in the air and chest bumped Dustin Doe, and he came down without a limp. So it looks like UF's defensive leader is looking good to go. As for Percy Harvin, he looks even better. He rean several pregame routes and looked like typical Percy.

Darts & Laurels

This week, we'll start on a positive note. We would like to issue a 50-years-is-a-long-time-but-let's-keep-the-ball-rolling LAUREL to UF and George Starke Jr. for demolishing our school's color barrier a half-century ago. The feat may seem small now, but such an important breakthrough demands everyone's recognition and thanks.
