Eleven current and former Gators are competing at the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. The competition began on Sunday and runs until July 30.

Over the weekend, several UF swimmers competed in the Last Chance Meet in Gainesville for a chance to earn qualifying times for the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.
After winning its fifth-straight SEC title, No. 6 Florida is using the experience from its conference championship to get ready for the NCAA Championships, which start March 22 in Indianapolis.
With enough medals to fill a trophy case, Caeleb Dressel has grown accustomed to winning throughout his young swimming career.
At last year’s SEC swimming and diving championship meet, Caeleb Dressel was the star.
At this point, SEC championships have become routine for the Gators men’s swimming and diving team.
For the first time in over a year, Florida’s swimming and diving teams had a home meet at the O’Connell Center.
In last week’s victory against No. 6 Auburn, the Gators men’s swimming and diving team — which won 10 out of 16 events — improved its dual-meet win streak to three.
Florida’s men’s swimming and diving team extended its win streak to three by beating Auburn 163-137 on Saturday, while the women’s team fell 197-103.
Florida’s men’s swimming and diving team fell nine points short against Auburn a season ago. At the time, coach Gregg Troy said that “too many little mistakes” accumulated, costing his men’s team the victory.
The Texas Longhorns are the team to beat in college swimming.
