Due to a number of issues that came up last semester with open comments, we turned on registration for comments at the beginning of this semester.
Then we had a number of issues with the registration system.
I wanted it to be as easy as possible. I don't care where you live, or what your real name is. But it took a while to figure out how to disable the defaulted requirements.
Now, you should be able to register and comment after filling out only 4 fields: username, password, e-mail address and date of birth.
I don't care how old you are, either, but the system we are using does. Go figure. Better yet, go comment!
