Dreyfuss

A Gainesville woman was arrested early Sunday morning after she cut the pants a man was wearing to steal his wallet, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office said.

Paige Maxine Dreyfuss, 23, went to the man’s house at about midnight Sunday intending to settle a debt she had with the man by prostituting herself to him, according to an arrest report.

The man said he welcomed Dreyfuss into his home and offered her something to eat, according to the report.

He told police when he wasn’t looking, Dreyfuss pushed him to the floor, took a knife out and cut into his back pants pocket. She grabbed his wallet and then fled the scene, according to the report.

A deputy could see a rip in the man’s pants pocket, according to the report. The man positively identified Dreyfuss, according to the report.

Dreyfuss first told police she was never at his house but later said the man had attempted to give her money in exchange for sex. She said she refused and left the residence, according to the report.

Dreyfuss told police when she denied to have sex with the victim, he threw a “tantrum” and threw something at the wall, according to the report.

Dreyfuss was arrested on a charge of robbery with weapon and was taken to the Alachua County Jail, where she remains as of press time in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
