Redshirt junior linebacker Jeremi Powell will not finish his career as a member of the Gators.

Powell is no longer a part of the program after an injury plagued career with Florida. GatorCountry first reported that Powell was no longer on the football team, which was later confirmed by the Gators.

The Largo native’s transfer leaves Florida’s already thin linebacking corps with just five scholarship linebackers left on the roster.

Powell — a four star recruit and a top 250 player in the country coming out of high school according to 247Sports — played in 10 games this season, starting two, and had 11 tackles.

During his time at Florida, he played in 25 games and registered 21 career tackles.

He is expected to graduate in May and has one season of eligibility left and may look to transfer to another program.
