The No. 8 Florida Gators soccer team returns to action tonight against Oklahoma State at 7 at James G. Pressly Stadium.

The Gators (3-1-0) are 2-0 all-time against Oklahoma State (2-1-0), with both matches between the two programs having occurred over the last two seasons.

Last season, four different Gators scored in a 4-0 victory for Florida. Junior forwards Savannah Jordan and Brooke Sharp along with senior defender Brooke Smith all scored in the second half of the 2014 contest.

The victory last year came immediately after the team’s first loss of the season against Oklahoma. This year, it follows the Gators win over the then ranked No. 1 team in the country on Sunday.

Coach Becky Burleigh said the team needs to eliminate the distractions that surround the team following a big victory. Burleigh said the team is focused on conditional relationships heading into the game on Friday night.

“We’re gonna focus on valuing the contribution of everybody on this team,” Burleigh said. “Whether you’re playing ninety minutes or whether you’re not playing at all. I think we’ve seen the last couple of games what a big impact people who aren’t even on the field can have for us and so we’re going to continue to rely on the whole group to get it done.”

The game Friday night will be the first night game at home for the Gators this season as the team looks to improve on a two game winning streak.

The Gators outscored their opponents 22-5 in night time home games in 2014.
