UF lecturer brings Argentina roots to Gainesville

The event, originally scheduled for Aug. 29, honored UF College of Education bachelor’s and master’s graduate Ada Dorfeld who is also a significant donor to the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship. Dorfeld died in March before she could see the unveiling of the plaza.
There are many resources available to freshmen students to help them adjust to college life. Resources for freshmen include the CWC, resident assistants and student organizations.
A law from Florida’s legislative session puts unions — including UF’s collective for graduate students — at risk of losing legal recognition as early as next year. SB 256 requires unions to reach 60% membership quota. The unions will no longer be legally recognized if the quota is not met.
UF stands on top among public universities in the United States, according to a ranking released by The Wall Street Journal Sept 6.
Many students who grew up in Florida know that an incoming hurricane almost always grants days off from school. Now that UF students live in their own spaces, they opt to throw “hurricane parties” to pass time.
The 19-year-old UF business sophomore and Tau Epsilon Phi recruitment chair is remembered as a light among his campus community. Silverman died of natural causes Aug. 11.
