At a meeting Friday morning of UF's Board of Trustees, UF President Bernie Machen said a UF student died in a single-vehicle car accident on 13th Street Thursday night.
Machen did not give the student's name, but said the student "died with an armband from a bar and a forged ID."
He said the accident was a tragic result of underaged drinking. The event serves as an example as to why UF won't back down from its fight against binge drinking, he added.
