The UF women's golf team has had a fall season full of red numbers and stellar play so far.
Monday, unfortunately, was not in-line with that trend.
Without senior Whitney Myers and redshirt sophomore Ornella Jouven - both regulars on the fifth-ranked, second-seeded Gators - UF fell 3-1-1 to Georgia in Orlando in the Hooters Match Play Championship.
Despite the loss, UF coach Jill Briles-Hinton was proud of her team's finish despite being short-handed.
"We didn't have our strongest team here, and we held our own," she said.
Freshman Jessica Yadloczky - playing No. 1 on Monday - fell to Carolina Andrade 4 and 3, while No. 2 senior Tiffany Chudy lost 3 and 2 to Garrett Phillips.
Both were plagued by bogeys throughout the day.
"Between the two of them, they made seven bogeys," Briles-Hinton said. "And when [Georgia's] making pars, it's going to be hard to win your match."
Senior Eleanor Tucker could not surmount a 1-up deficit during her last four holes against Mallory Hetzel and finally lost 1-up.
Brighter moments of the day included senior Sandra Gal's birdies on the 17th and 18th holes to halve her match with Krystle Caithness and junior Brittany Nelson's second victory of the tournament, a trouncing of Alina Lee 6 and 4.
The Gators will play fifth-seeded Tennessee on Tuesday in the third-place match.
