Vision Party swept all 50 Student Government on- and off-campus Senate seats after the two-day Fall election. Wednesday’s results mark the first time Vision faced another party at the polls in over a year, having run largely unopposed last cycle.

There’s a $19 million disparity between the pay raise sum asked for by the Graduate Assistants United and UF’s actual Sept. 11 offer, according to PhD student and GAU co-President Hannah Jacobs. The negotiations for higher salaries began in early September with GAU’s proposal for an across-the-board 30% raise to help pay for basic necessities such as food and rent, Jacobs said.

Gov. Ron DeSantis signed Florida House Bill 905, also known as the Foreign Interference Restriction Act, May of this year. The law shut down the Florida Linkage Institution Scholarships, a program that allowed international students from 11 countries to qualify for in-state tuition at Florida public schools. With it, eligible international students saw their tuition costs drop by as much as $28,000 — or more than 80%.
The Pride Student Union, the largest LGBTQ+ organization at UF, organizes annual welcome assemblies for queer students and aims to create an open, safe and inclusive environment. With the loss of the assembly’s Signature Event designation in 2025, PSU faced funding challenges for this year's event. Despite operating on a smaller budget, funded by the UF Student Government, the event ran smoothly.
