Lakecia Ealey waved goodbye to her collegiate career Friday at the NCAA Track and Field championships.

The senior finished third in the 100-meter dash, and her time of 11.35 seconds earned her a third-place finish and All-American honors.

Ealey became the first UF woman to earn such honors in the event since Kisha Jett in 1998.

"It's a fitting way for Lakecia to end her career," UF coach Mike Holloway said. "She's been such a hard-worker, has been a great leader and this is the crown jewel of her career, she should be really proud."

Ealey led a team that ended the weekend with a ninth-place finish and collected six All-American honors.

Southeastern Conference rival LSU took home the title on the women's side.

Freshman Rebecca Lowe became the Gators first All-American in the 5,000-meter event since 1990.

Her time of 15:50.73 lowered her personal-best by almost 24 seconds and was the second fastest in school history.

"Rebecca had a phenomenal effort," Holloway said. "To come in and compete at that level as a freshman is remarkable. My hat is off to her and to Coach (Jeff) Pigg for a fantastic job preparing her."

Mariam Kevkhishvili opened the final day of competition on a high note for the Gators, placing third in the shot put with a throw of 57 feet 2.25 inches.

It was the second best throw of the outdoor season for the sophomore.

Kevkhishvili earned outdoor All-American honors for the second consecutive season.

This, coming off an indoor season that saw her capture a national championship in the event.

Senior Natalie Knight finished off her career with a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash and earned outdoor All-American honors for the second time in her career - the first since 2005.

"I'm really proud of the way the women's team competed, they lined up and methodically got it done, and that's kind of been the way they've operated all year," Holloway said. "They were only six points out of a top-five finish. It was a good week for them."

After entering the final day of competition in ninth place, the men's team was not able to hold on for a top-10 finish.

The Gators ended the competition in 15th place. Rival Florida State took home the national title.

The Seminoles were led by NCAA 100-meter champion Walter Dix.

The men did however see their fair share of success over the weekend.

Jeremy Hall took home a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter dash.

Hall's time of 10.36 seconds was good enough to earn All-American honors.

He became the first Gator to earn All-American status in the event since 2005 and had the highest finish since Bernard Williams won the national title in 2000.

Adam Montague became the first UF athlete to earn All-American honors in the javelin since 1995 with a throw of 244 feet 10 inches.

The throw was the third-best of his career.

Calvin Smith ran his way to a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter.

His time of 45.14 seconds helped him earn the highest finish by a UF athlete since Ricky Harris took second in 2002.

It was the fourth-fastest time in school history.

Smith ended his day by running the second leg of the men's 4x400-meter relay.

He teamed up with Bernard Middleton, LaMarr Davis and Eric Alberter to run 3:07.91.

The time earned the team an eighth-place finish and All-American honors.

"I felt like we had a top-10 team on the men's side, and we were close and had our chance at the end," Holloway said.
