The second day of interviews for students seeking spots in next month's Student Government election brought a change in applicant flow for both parties.

About 120 students interviewed with the Gator Party on Monday, and about 20 interviewed with the Orange and Blue Party, said SG Supervisor of Elections Dan Siegel.

Student Sen. Benjamin Dictor, Orange and Blue Party member, said about 20 applicants came up to his party's table because they said their fraternity or sorority sent them to register with the Gator Party.

After filling out their qualifying forms, two girls seeking direction approached the Orange and Blue Party's information table.

"Did your sorority send you to register?" asked Dictor to the two girls, who nodded.

"The Greek party's down there," Dictor said, prompting the girls toward Gator Party officials.

Gator Party President Luis Nobriga said labeling the Gator Party as a Greek party is a disservice to party members who are not Greek, and there have been applicants from all areas of involvement at UF.

"It's definitely not the whole truth," Nobriga said. "I wouldn't say it's an accurate representation of the Gator Party."

Parties will continue interviewing students today and submit their ticket for the fall election by midnight.
