Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader will hold a rally at UF on Tuesday.

Nader will speak at the Reitz Union Rion Ballroom at 1:30 p.m.

His speech will focus on the economic bailout package, health care, the Iraq war and the presidential debates, according to a news release.

Nader, known for his numerous presidential bids and his consumer advocacy efforts, is running with former San Francisco Supervisor Matt Gonzalez.

Nader and Gonzalez are on the ballot in 45 states, according to Jerrad Hardin, a Florida spokesman for Nader's campaign.

Hardin said the campaign opened an office in Gainesville a few weeks ago, making it the only campaign office in the state and one of 22 in the country.

The campaign chose to set up shop in Gainesville because Nader has done well in Alachua County in previous elections, he said.
