There are only about two weeks left until that dreaded holiday, the one full of an obnoxious amount of pink, with roses everywhere and events planned to remind you that you're single.

Oh yes, Valentine's Day. You either love it, or you hate it. And most people usually hate it; so don't feel bad if you're slightly bitter.

But just because you don't have a valentine right now, doesn't mean that you can't have a valentine in a couple of weeks.

There are plenty of ways for you to find someone out there who is worthy of fully stocking your cabinet with scented massage oils and body chocolate.

What you must remember, though, is that it is not going to come easy. Don't think your lame pickup lines are going to do the trick. Around V-Day, people tend to be a bit more sensitive.

Girls can be easier to seduce because they are lonely, or they can be extremely stubborn. Guys might be tentative to let someone seduce them out of the fear of being dragged into an awkward "Be mine" situation.

But regardless of loneliness, stubbornness or fear of attachment, play your cards right and you will have plenty to do on the 14th.

First thing to remember is not to go after the unattainable. The whole shoot-for-the-moon thing does not really work in these kinds of situations. If you are really looking for some fun, and you know they are out of your reach, don't even try. It's crunch time, people.

So before you go out, take time to make yourself look sexy. Guys, this means dressing sharp and confident in colors that make your best features stand out.

Girls, let's make this very clear: you can look sexy without looking slutty. It's okay to show a little skin, but don't expose too much. Plus, if you're going to seduce a guy, you want to seduce one who wants you, not just your body.

Regardless of what you are wearing, though, it is most important to be confident. Don't necessarily play hard to get - that silly game is just annoying to everyone - but don't be overly available because everyone loves a little chase. You've got to act and feel seductive for others to think you are.

Of course there are the normal ways to seduce someone. Flirt your heart out, bat your eyelashes or flash a smile. These are all clearly easy to do and usually work well. But they are far too overdone and boring.

With V-Day right around the corner, you've got no time to waste. You can work some interesting magic that will make your skills stand out above the rest.

Scents are very sexually sensitive, and there are plenty that can help you reel in your bait with one simple whiff.

The first tip is to make sure you smell good, which is why cologne and perfume are a good idea. It has been proven that men are attracted to scents like lavender, vanilla and even pumpkin pie.

But there are sneakier ways than smelling nice that can make you as seductive as ever.

There are many foods out there that tend to cause arousal. Foods that cause sexual excitement are known as aphrodisiacs, and oysters are at the top of the list.

Serve these, or even better, feed them to your love interest and you'll have them literally eating out of the palm of your hand.

So, what are you waiting for? The clock is ticking. Use these sexy seductive tricks to be sure you are not wallowing in self-pity on Valentine's Day. It is time to use all of your best moves, best lines and best foods.

But who knows, perhaps you won't even need to go the extra mile to ensure a lover on V-Day. You could just meet that special someone, and regardless of how you smell or what foods you're feeding them, you might just have them at "hello."
