I applaud Alex Andrade for taking pride in the Greek community, but he has been misinformed.

First, Gator Growl and Homecoming are organized by Florida Blue Key, not the Greek community.

Although you might have been led to believe Florida Blue Key is a Greek honorary, it is in fact the most prestigious honorary on campus. The strong correlation between Greek letters and membership in FBK is purely consequential. Contrary to popular belief, FBK does not "officially" get involved in campus politics.

Secondly, I encourage Alex to attend Senate meetings rather than blindly trusting the stories of the Gator Party Senator he dates.

I have seen Senators of the Gator Party, now Unite Party, support university alcohol regulations that would harm Greek houses.

I have seen Unite Party campaign managers punish members of Greek life for showing interest in other parties.

I have seen threatening text messages sent by Unite Party's leaders during votes, and I have seen the Unite Party promise positions to keep certain cultural organizations in the fold at the expense of qualified students, including Greeks.

During the Election look at the real party that is fighting for the students, look at the real party that is going to work to make sure the rights of Greeks are protected, look at the Keg Party.

The Keg Party is here for the Greek community, and we are here for the students.
