Florida men’s basketball signed 22-year-old forward Domen Petrovič, head coach Todd Golden announced on Monday.
In addition to retaining its head coach, UF saw many players return for another season, choosing to do so rather than declare for the NBA Draft or enter the transfer portal. Overall, eight players announced their return to Gainesville, while centers Olivier Roux and Micah Handlogten opted to enter the transfer portal.
After three seasons with Florida and despite major buzz regarding his status in this year’s NBA Draft, junior forward Thomas Haugh will return to Gainesville for his senior season.
After a junior season filled with broken records, Rueben Chinyelu will be declaring for the NBA Draft, but retaining eligibility to return to Gainesville for his senior season.
Alex Condon will return to Gainesville for a senior season with the Gators. He made this decision despite ESPN’s most recent mock draft having the forward going No. 30 overall.
A familiar face is heading back to Gainesville, as former national champion Denzel Aberdeen announced his commitment to return to Florida.
With the Gators potentially losing up to five rotation players due to ineligibility or the NBA Draft, Florida has multiple holes to fill. Moreover, on Tuesday, UF’s redshirt-freshman center Olivier Rioux announced he will be entering the transfer portal.

Fast forward about a year. Florida fans are facing the reality they will not experience the same level of excitement. Instead, following a second-round exit to Iowa March 22, Gators fans will spend Saturday’s Final Four games without the defending national champions competing, if they even choose to watch.
With the 2025-26 season at an end, Florida men’s basketball faces an offseason filled with uncertainty over who will return.
