GPD: No foul play suspected after man found dead in canal Sunday

Preliminary autopsy results from a man found dead in Gainesville indicated that there was no foul play.

The body of Timothy McMillian, 55, was found Sunday at about 1 p.m. after someone spotted his body behind JP Gator's pool hall, said Gainesville Police Department spokesman Keith Kameg.

Kameg said McMillian's autopsy showed that his death was due to natural causes or the result of a fall.

"We are still waiting for toxicology tests to come back," he said. "But that could take weeks to months."

Kameg said that McMillan was at the Veteran's Affairs Hospital the day he was found near a creek behind the shopping center on the corner of Southwest 13th Street and Southwest 16th Avenue.
