At about 8:30 p.m. two men attempted a home invasion in the 1100 block of Southwest 3rd Avenue.
One suspect is described as being a white male, 6'2", heavy set with facial hair.
The other is a heavy-set black male who was wearing a black shirt.
According to a University Police Department release, authorities think both men were wearing masks.
The Gainesville Police Department responded to the scene and UPD alerted local media of the break-in because of the house's proximity to UF.
Those with information are asked to call a local law enforcement agency.
