NFL season brings questions, here are the answers

The NFL season has officially begun.

The Steelers opened the season with a 13-10 win against the Titans.

With the start of the season, some of the questions that have been looming during the offseason will get answered.

Luckily for you readers, I consider myself to be quite knowledgeable about the NFL and have the answers for most of the important questions heading into this season - at least that's what I like to think.

Here are some of those tough questions with their answers:

Can Tom Brady return to form after a knee injury in week one required season-ending surgery?

Absolutely. Brady will have no problems looking like his old MVP self, and having Randy Moss and Wes Welker to throw to doesn't hurt.

Will the Lions actually win a game this year?

Yes, but not many. I'll take a guess and say three. Expect rookie quarterback Matthew Stafford to look less than impressive, but receiver Calvin Johnson will still look like a stud.

How many games into the season before Al Davis fires Tom Cable, and will Richard Seymour ever show up in Oakland?

The first question shouldn't take long, probably about six games. Davis barely wanted him to begin with, but he seemed to be the only one who wanted the job. Seymour will eventually suck it up and make the trip out west. This trade will make him lack motivation or make him hungry to make the Pats dumb for getting rid of him.

Can Mark Sanchez lead the Jets back to the playoffs?

Kind of. The Jets will make the playoffs, but more so because of their strong running game and great defense than because of Sanchez.

Will Brett Favre make a difference in Minnesota?

This unfortunately is a yes. As much as I would like to see him fail for torturing us by being the only thing ESPN would cover this summer, Minnesota has Adrian Peterson, a good defense and playmaking wide receivers that will make it hard for him not to look decent. And being decent will be good enough to make this team a championship contender.

How will Michael Vick perform for the Eagles?

He is not allowed to play until week 3, and by that time, the Eagles and quarterback Donovan McNabb will have a better idea what the plan for Vick is. This will allow him to come in and be either a distraction to defenses or catch them off-guard. Either way, he will be an impact player when he is on the field, but don't expect him to be on the field more than 15-20 snaps per game.

With some of the storylines out of the way, it's on to my postseason predictions.

In the NFC, the Giants, Vikings, Falcons and Seahawks will win their divisions, with the Eagles and Packers making the playoffs as wild cards. The Patriots, Steelers, Colts and Chargers will be the division champions in the AFC, and the Jets and Ravens will get into the postseason with wild card bids.

Finally, who will win the Super Bowl?

The Ravens' dominating defense and hard-nosed rushing attack will be enough to top the Vikings 20-14 in this year's Super Bowl.

Even if I'm off on a couple of these, one thing is for sure: Thank goodness the NFL season is back.
