It was reported in the Sept. 29 edition of the Alligator that Joseph McCabe was a UF student senator. While he still officially held his seat until Tuesday night, when his term ended, McCabe withdrew from the university on Sept. 14, according to the Office of the University Registrar. The registrar's office initially provided incorrect information, listing McCabe as an enrolled student, but confirmed Tuesday he had withdrawn.

An employee in the Student Government office said McCabe was able to retain his seat because no one had notified the office of his withdrawal.
