Gainesville Fashion Week joined the rest of the world Thursday night by holding Gainesville's first Fashion's Night Out.
Fashion boutiques, salons and coffee shops stayed open late and offered discounts, special treatments and free food to shoppers to encourage local business. At the end of the night, event-goers who visited every location received gift bags filled with items from the participating shops.
The event is based off of Fashion's Night Out, a global event hosted by Vogue in major cities to stimulate the fashion industry.
Tonight, the Avenue visited several of Gainesville's boutiques to sample local style. Here are some of the boutique owners' favorite outfits.
On Friday, the final Fashion Week runway show at Skyy will feature two local designers' Bobby K and Dahlia lines.
