No one is qualified to judge shooting incident except for investigators

The line from Wednesday’s editorial on the Kofi Adu-Brempong shooting that reads, “We also question why he was shot in the jaw rather than a safer location,” is beyond ignorant.

The notion that there is a safe place to shoot somebody is patently absurd.

When a weapon is drawn and fired by police officers, the intent is not to subdue an individual; it is to kill.

There are more ideal places in which to target an individual, but the dynamics of a situation like that are beyond our comprehension and therefore beyond comment.

I will not debate whether or not  the use of deadly force is justifiable in the instance of Adu-Brempong’s shooting.

Neither you nor I am qualified to make that determination.

Hence, there is a need for further investigation from a qualified, unbiased, independent organization.
