The game between No. 4 Florida and Bethune-Cookman (29-18, 15-0 MEAC) was rained out Tuesday night.

The first pitch was scheduled for shortly after 6:30 p.m., but rain started pouring into McKethan Stadium more than an hour earlier and the precipitation did not cease. The game was officially called off at 7:19 p.m.

After the initial delay, the game was scheduled to start at 8:30 p.m., but weather reports showed the nasty weather was going to persist in Gainesville beyond then. With Bethune-Cookman players taking exams this week, the visiting team could not play a late game.

The Gators (31-11, 15-6 Southeastern Conference) will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. this weekend for a three-game series against the Crimson Tide beginning Friday night at 7:35. UF trails South Carolina by one game for first place in the SEC. Alabama (28-17, 9-12 SEC) is eighth in the conference.
