Summer is here in full force. You know what that means: the usual summer staples—hotter than hot weather, daily afternoon thunderstorms, itty bitty bikinis and refreshing drinks by the pool.
But, I have a new staple that I think every girl needs to implement into her summer wardrobe: boyfriend shorts. Last winter, the boyfriend jeans took over like wildfire. I’m expecting the same to happen with these comfy-chic shorts.
Celebrities from Taylor Swift to Rihanna and Whitney Port have been spotted wearing this trend. Taylor’s AG Adriano Goldschmied "Ex Boyfriend" Boyfriend Shorts will cost you a hefty $195.
However, if you’re like me and don’t have that kind of cash lying around, get the look for less at Old Navy. These distressed shorts are almost identical to the ones Taylor is shown wearing in her Glamour

The boyfriend short looks perfect when casually paired with a flowy top and gladiator sandals or dressed up with heels a la Rihanna.
The boyfriend short is great for these hot summer days when you don’t feel like wearing a dress, but aren’t comfortable sporting the trendy hot pant style that is so unflattering that only a model can pull it off.
