No. 23 Florida falls flat against No. 4 LSU, ends three-match winning streak

The No. 23 Florida Gators (7-2, 2-1 SEC) lost to the No. 4 LSU Tigers (8-3, 1-2 SEC) 4-0 Thursday evening at the LSU Tennis Complex.

Florida (6-2) defeated No. 11 Oklahoma (10-4) in a close 4-3 home victory Saturday afternoon despite getting a slow start in doubles.

After falling to No. 13 Auburn in their SEC conference opener Saturday, the Gators made just the right adjustments and quickly bounced back against Bethune-Cookman. The Gators clinched every possible point on the court, finishing off the Wildcats 7-0. With the win, UF improved to 5-0 all-time against Bethune-Cookman.
The Alfred A. Ring Complex felt tense on Saturday afternoon, with cheers for the Gators and the Tigers echoing from the crowd.
Despite leaving Troy winless in the morning, the Gators were still hungry for more victories on Friday. They gave Louisiana no room to breathe in their first meeting in program history. No. 24 Florida defeated the Louisiana Raging Cajuns 7-0 on Friday afternoon at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
A sunny sky and an at-home crowd seemed to be the perfect formula for the Florida women’s tennis team.
The Gators had opened their 2026 season without defeat, overtaking Charleston Southern and Ole Miss. However, that streak and their hopes of punching their ticket to the championship fell short against the only other ranked opponent at the ITA Kickoff Weekend, No. 11 North Carolina State.
Despite a severe weather warning in North Carolina, the No. 23 Florida women’s tennis team stayed hot on the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center court. Florida stunned Ole Miss to clinch a 4-2 victory.
