This summer had a lot of hits and misses. Some films had plenty of anticipation while some newcomers broke into the spotlight. But which film was the best of the summer?
Opinions will vary depending on many variables. My thoughts on the best of the summer are definitely biased due to my gender and skipping out on such films as "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" and "Sex and the City 2."
My top three films of the summer include: "Inception", "Toy Story 3" and "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World."
"Toy Story" made me go home and play with all my toys from over ten years ago, but it also was another sequel that didn't need to be in 3-D. "Scott Pilgrim" was a hilarious film with amazing action scenes, but was more visually appealing than anything else.
I consider "Inception" to be the beak-out hit of the summer, but some consider it the best summer film of the decade.
The film was essentially a way for Warner Brothers to get Chris Nolan to sign on and direct "Batman 3," but no one expected abrainy thriller to actually make a profit during the summer blockbuster. Now sitting at over $700 million worldwide, Nolan and WB are all smiles.
Much of those dollars probably came from repeated viewings of the film since it was one of those "so good yet so confusing" types.
Heck, even the characters in the film didn't know what was going on.
So what about you? What was your best film of the summer?
