I was shocked by the assertion UF is “no longer an academic [and] athletic force” and it has returned to “mediocrity” after falling behind the University of Miami as the top-ranked college in Florida.

I am proud to attend the best public university in the state, and I would encourage any incoming freshman to consider UM if they want to pay $37,000 in yearly tuition. Furthermore, I find it ridiculous after our football team has suffered two losses, one at the hands of the formerly best-ranked team in the nation, the assumption could be made our athletic program is subpar.  Our No. 2 volleyball and No. 6 soccer teams continue to play very well. I cannot think of another university that consistently produces such high-caliber teams in practically every sport.

Gator glory is dead? I think not.
