First off, I must say I generally don’t read Tiffany Miles’ letters because, overall, I find their content to be dull and presented in a condescending manner.
My real complaint is with the letter in Wednesday’s edition entitled “Mardi Gras article embarrassing, trashy.”
I was embarrassed to even have a letter like this in my school newspaper.
It only glorifies prudence and virtue (probably of a good nature as well), bookwormism and otherwise total dullness.
By focusing on nothing but the negative aspects of partying — not saying there are any negative ones — the letter was the epitome of the smart-ass college kid who might have passed some tests but is not aware enough of her surroundings to know that nobody plays “wine-pong.”
Seriously.
The letter was trash, and it only made the already crappy editorial section even trashier. I will spread only negative things about Tiffany Miles until she becomes fun.
Editor's note: This letter refers to this other letter.
