Last Friday, Georgia held its “Dawg Night” camp, a high school prospect event similar to Florida’s Friday Night Lights. In one night, the Bulldogs got five oral commitments — two from top recruits who the Gators had on their wish list.

Five-star offensive tackle John Theus of Jacksonville Bolles School and 2013 Yulee High running back Derrick Henry each announced their intentions to attend UGA.

The 6-foot-6, 292-pound Theus is the No. 2 offensive tackle in the nation and No. 7 overall prospect according to Rivals.com. Henry rushed for 2,689 yards and 38 touchdowns as a sophomore and told alligatorSports on Thursday that Florida was his leader. Henry said he would not be committing until his senior season.

“I said the Gators were my top team, but just because I’ve always been a Gators fan and it’s a place where I always wanted to play growing up,” Henry told Chris Hays of the Orlando Sentinel.

“But just thinking about my top two — Georgia and Florida — I feel like I can make a big impact at Georgia at running back.”

Agholor taking a step back: While rumors spread last week that Tampa Berkeley Prep athlete Nelson Agholor and Melbourne Holy Trinity safety Marcus Maye might be a package deal, it seems Agholor is reevaluating where he stands going forward.

“Nelson is very interested in Florida,” Maye said after orally committing to the Gators on Monday. “He said Florida is coming after him a lot. He said he needs to look at things one more time, but he likes Florida. They’re one of his top schools.”

The five-star Agholor, who is No. 9 in the overall Rivals100 prospect rankings, has yet to narrow his list of college options. According to ESPN’s Tom Luginbill, he accepted an invitation to the 2012 Under Armour All-American game.

Agholor has previously said he does not intend to orally commit until either signing day or an all-star game.

FSU commit attending FNL: Five-star defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. confirmed Monday he and his little brother Terio will be attending Florida’s Friday Night Lights. Fowler has been orally committed to Florida State since December but has still been visiting other schools.
