Compact fluorescent light bulbs are bright, green idea

Your new green best friend might be a swirly glass object no bigger than a coffee cup.

You might not know it, but the compact fluorescent light bulb, or CFL, actually does make a difference.

CFLs use 2/3 less energy than a regular incandescent light bulb, according to the Environmental Protection Agency.

They also can save about $30 over the entire life of the bulb when compared to incandescent lights.

A pack of CFLs costs about $13, so it can certainly be worth the investment when you consider the money you save by lowering your energy bill.
