Steering away from heterosexual and homosexual identities, the discussion of asexuality at UF sheds light on the idea of sexuality as a spectrum of colors rather than simply black or white.

UF Pride Student Union's "Asexual Days" seek to bring together people of different sexual orientations to learn about what it is to be asexual, or someone who does not experience sexual attraction toward males or females, said sophomore David McDermott, 19, a member of the organization.

A panel of asexual students will provide insight into what it means to be asexual today at 8 p.m. in the Ustler Hall Atrium.

A film screening of Director Angela Tucker's "(A)sexual" will take place Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the New Physics Building Room 1216.

The film will bring awareness to what it is like to be nonsexual in a world where music, art and social media are often sexually oriented.

The closing event will feature David Jay, founder of Asexual Visibility and Education Network.

Jay will give a keynote speech Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Pugh Hall Ocora.

"Sexuality is a spectrum, not just black and white," McDermott said. "And when we look at it as black and white, we alienate people."
