It’s barely been six months since the release of Apple’s iPhone 5, but already people across the spectrum of media have been bouncing news and speculation toward the next iPhone. Emerging from an endless sea of rumor and prediction comes more rumor and prediction regarding its release date.

First off; following previous Apple naming conventions, it is safe to assume that the next iPhone will be called the iPhone 5S.

Moving unto the meat of the matter, there’s no such thing as an official release date for the newest iPhone. And given the general lack of information or hype regarding the phone, it may be safe to conclude that there will be no such June release date as predicted earlier this year.

There is, however, both speculation (as ever) and precedent, given the release of the iPhone 4S just under a year from the first model, that we may yet expect a release of the iPhone 5S later this year around the month of August or September. Amusing enough, I’ve also had favor to come across a fair deal of speculation regarding the iPhone 6, bypassing 5S altogether, as the next release model. I’d prefer to hedge that these reports are mostly as unsubstantiated as the speculation regarding an impossibly see-through transparent model.

Bearing in mind of course, all of this information has of itself emerged from speculative websites and major tech blogs you should feel inclined to take it with a pinch of salt.
