Let’s face it—when it comes to jewelry, it’s difficult to choose just one pair of earrings, bracelet or necklace. After finally picking out your outfit, getting ready just got much more time consuming and stressful: which piece do I want to wear? That little extra accessory can either put the finishing touch on a knockout outfit, or make it a complete bust.

So when you have a plethora of cute pieces to pick from, where do you even start? An edgy summer trend fixes this complicated problem pretty easily: why not pile all of them on? You may think, wouldn’t that look gaudy and over-the-top? But, in fact, if you do it the right way, this layered jewelry trend may be a new look that you’ll fall in love with.

In order to pull this look off, balance is essential. If you are going to wear a ring on each finger or stack your wrists with bracelets, then wear a simple, minimalistic outfit (i.e. plain color shirt, jeans, plain shoes). Wearing a crazy design or pattern will kill the look. Also, try wearing a choker, medium length necklace and a long one. The different lengths will help balance the look and make a striking appearance.

Focus and stick to one type of jewelry. If you want to wear multiple necklaces, then throw them on—but don’t attempt to pile on rings, bracelets and necklaces; it’d be major overkill. Besides, how can people admire your stacked-up bracelets when they are busy staring at all the layered necklaces you’re wearing? Simplicity is key.

Lastly, rock your style. Strut in confidence. If you believe that you can pull off any look, then you can. It’s as simple as that. So the next time you are going out with your friends (or just want to try a different look for fun), pile it on.

It’s about time to show all your jewelry pieces some love.
