A Gainesville woman was arrested Monday night after police say she incited a rowdy crowd and threatened an officer.

Shantel Uranious Johnson was arrested Monday at about 7:30 p.m. on charges of a city ordinance violation/disorderly conduct

Officers responded to find a group of about 100 people fighting at 1727 NE Eighth Ave., according to a GPD arrest report.

As officers tried to break up the crowd, one advised Johnson to move along, according to the report. She walked forward, turned around and said, “I am moving.”

When the officer told her to leave, according to the report, Johnson suddenly raised her hand, pushed it about one inch from the officer’s face and said, “F*** you!”

The crowd was agitated and unruly, according to the report, and Johnson’s actions attracted a group of people to stand defensively around the officer.

As of press time, she had been released.

At about 3 a.m. Tuesday, a UPD officer went to Thomas Hall on the UF campus in response to a tip that three men seemed like they might steal a bike.

The officer saw the men, asked them to come talk to him, and they agreed, according to an arrest report. The officer interviewed them individually.

One of them, 38-year-old Joseph Cleutus Henstler, said he was on campus with the intention of stealing a bike. Arron Jewell, 20, also said he meant to steal a bike on campus, according to the report.

James Kennett, 20, the third man, said he found a bike and took it, but then he changed his mind and put it in the bushes, according to the report.
