President Barack Obama apologizes to Americans who haven’t been able to receive healthcare or whose healthcare has been canceled.

“I am sorry that [they] are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances [they] got from me,” Obama said on Thursday in an interview with NBC Nightly News.

The “they” that President Obama is referring to is, us, Americans; the Americans that were promised healthcare time and time again by the President.

Obama has been under rapid fire for the last several months due to an unreliable healthcare website. When healthcare.gov debuted October 1, 2013, it was shaky at best.

Some individuals were able to get through and create a healthcare plan while others were not. President Obama blamed it on the high volume of Americans trying to register all at once and said that the problem would be fixed.

And still, months later, the website doesn’t work. In fact, many of the 12 million Americans who thought they had successfully registered for healthcare are quickly realizing that their policies have been canceled.

For years Obama has promised Americans that if they liked the plans offered by Obamacare, they could keep them.

But this has been proven to be untrue. Thus, Obama has been forced to retract such statements and apologize to the American people for his falsities.

Now Americans are asking why? Why have their policies been canceled?

The answer to that question remains unclear. Some insurance companies are pulling their plans in states where they have fewer subscribers in order to save money.

While other insurance companies are pulling their plans because individuals don’t qualify for “subsidies to the lower cost of the new premiums,” according to CNN.

"We've got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them [Americans who’ve lost or can’t get coverage] and we are going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this," President Obama added during his interview with NBC Nightly News.

At this point, the only real thing Obama can do is ask the insurance companies to hold off on canceling plans through the new year, so that people are not left without insurance. This has been done in California

Either way, this news has not only upset many Americans, but has also instilled fear and frustration in many Democratic leaders, especially since many of them are facing re-election next year.
