Behind a solid outing in both doubles and singles play, the Gators won their third straight Southeastern Conference match late Friday.

No. 7 Florida (16-4, 8-2 SEC) swept Mississippi State (9-11, 1-9 SEC) 4-0 in the first of its two-match road trip.

The No. 20 doubles duo of Sofie Oyen and Belinda Woolcock pulled out the match’s first victory with a 7-3 win over Roseline Dion and Timea Guibe on Court 2. Olivia Janowicz and Kourtney Keegan sealed the doubles point for the Gators, winning 8-6 to put UF up 1-0. The duo improved to 12-2 as a tandem this season.

The Gators’ strong play in doubles carried over into singles action, as they wasted no time in extending their lead.

Oyen was leading MSU’s Guibe 5-1 in the first set when Guibe retired the match, putting Florida up 2-0. Keegan easily won the next match for the Gators with a 6-1, 6-3 victory. Freshman Stefani Stojic clinched Florida’s 14th sweep of the season, winning 6-4, 6-3.

Florida won’t have to travel very far for its next match when it faces No. 24 Ole Miss on Sunday at 11 a.m.
