Baby Gators excited to take on UF as the class of 2019

Friday the 13th was a lucky day for 13,667 students.

UF sent out its admission decisions for the class of 2019 Friday. There were a total of 30,800 applicants, 28,070 of whom applied by Nov. 1, UF spokesman Steve Orlando wrote in an email.

The average GPA of the admitted students was 4.3, the average SAT score was 1918, and the average ACT score was 29.

Innovation Academy admitted 346 students to its next class, and 3,118 were admitted to Pathway to Campus Enrollment, or PaCE.

Orlando said degree-seeking students selected for PaCE will enroll in UF Online for at least two semesters and complete a minimum of 15 credit hours online.

“PaCE allows us to offer admission to additional qualified applicants with academic potential and demonstrated success,” he said.

Coral Reef Senior High School seniors Noah Miller and Arn Xu have been best friends since their sophomore years, when they had the exact same class schedule.

On Friday, they found out they both have the opportunity to join The Gator Nation.

Miller, 18, said he was a little nervous before decisions came out. After checking his acceptance email at 6:05 p.m., he took to Instagram, instantly receiving 50 “likes.”

He said if they decide to go, there is a good possibility they will room together.

This was Xu’s first college acceptance.

“This is where the next part of our lives begin,” Xu, 17, said.
