A Gainesville woman was arrested Sunday morning after police said she drove drunk in a car that was missing two tires.

At about 8:30 a.m., Crystal Monica Sallett, 26, drove on the rims of her front tires in the 1200 block of W. University Ave; according to a police report.

Police tried to pull Sallett over, but she continued to drive for another minute before stopping, according to the report.

When approached by police, Sallett had difficulty speaking and opening her eyes, according to the report.

Sallett said she may have drunk about four or five shots too many the night before, which may still have been affecting her, according to the report.

She did not explain why her car was missing its two front tires, according to the report.

Police noted the smell of alcohol on Sallett’s breath, and when they conducted field sobriety exercises, she struggled to keep her balance, according to the report.

In a breathalyzer test, police recorded Sallett’s blood-alcohol levels at .273, more than three times the legal limit, according to the report.

Since 2008, Sallett has received one citation for speeding and another for violating the terms of a learner’s driver’s license, according to Alachua County court records.

Police arrested Sallett for DUI and took her to the Alachua County Jail where she remains, as of press time, in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
