Vintage Art Market

Calling vintage lovers of all ages.

Vintage collectors will have the opportunity to look at new vintage items at the Gainesville Vintage Pop Up Market and Poole Bazaar.

The event will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at 710 SE Second St.

“I know people that collect and sell vintage,” said Judy Phillips, the event coordinator. “I figure it would go over.”

Phillips presented the idea of the vintage pop up to the Poole Bazaar, where the event will be held, and they agreed.

“I talked with the people that are using that building for their art and they were trying to do a flea market,” Phillips said. “They were not doing much with it as they didn’t have time.”

The event will have food vendors, which include Humble Wood Fire, Indian food, different dessert items and more.

Phillips has seen similar markets in St. Petersburg, Florida.

“I went down there and shopped a couple of times,” Phillips said. “I liked it a lot so I thought Gainesville could use a market like this.”

Phillips hopes to continue doing more vintage pop-ups.

The goal is to “have it more than once a year but we just don’t think we can have it every month,” Phillips said.

“I’ve never done any events where I arrange it but I was a vendor at somebody else’s event,” Phillips said. “I’ve been a collector for quite some time.”

“I always liked to go to flea markets, people’s houses and state sales,” Phillips said. “I always liked antique stores when I was in there.”

Phillips’ collection includes jewelry, small vintage kitchen items and vintage clothes, which she will be selling at the event.

The event is free for all attendees.
