A trapped man was rescued from the O’Connell Center on Thursday.
Gainesville Fire Rescue and University Police got an emergency call around 2:58 a.m. about a man who was injured and trapped after trying to climb on the roof of the O'Connell Center, according to a GFR media release.
When authorities arrived to the scene, they found a man trapped about 20 feet off the floor and unable to get down safely because of an injury, according to the release.
The rescue team got the man to the ground and into an ambulance in under 16 minutes, according to the release.
The incident is still under investigation by UPD.
