Sierra Brooks finished tied for 22nd place (+9) in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Florida’s women’s golf team entered the second round of the Evans Derby Experience in second place at even par.

It got off to a promising start after two birdies in the first two holes on the front nine.

But a barrage of bogeys and double-bogeys the rest of the way saw the No. 7 Gators fall to sixth place with a score of 16 over on Sunday in Auburn, Alabama.

Redshirt sophomore Elin Esborn and junior Sierra Brooks ended the first round in a tie for 21st place at 1 over.

Both players had a difficult time on the front nine of the second round. Esborn posted two bogeys, while Brooks recorded four bogeys and one double-bogey.

Esborn’s 3 over on Sunday brought her overall score to 4 over, good for a tie for 25th, while Brooks’ 6 over dropped her to a tie for 42nd place (7 over) with sophomore Addie Baggarly.

Baggarly, who tied for second place in the Florida Gators Invitational, entered the second round of the Evans Derby Experience at 2 over. Four bogeys on the back nine led to a 5 over on Sunday, bringing her overall score to 7 over.

Freshman Clara Manzalini had a better start to the tournament.

She finished the first round tied for first place (-4) thanks to three birdies on her first five holes and two on her last four.

Manzalini maintained her spot tied at the top of the leaderboard despite shooting a 2 over in the second round.

The freshman’s overall score of 2 under makes her one of only seven players who sit under par through two rounds.

UF finds itself 13 strokes behind first-place Texas heading into the final round on Monday.
