Not getting along with neighbors turned into a dangerous situation when a Gainesville man attempted to shoot two women he had ongoing disagreements with, police said.

Gainesville Police were called multiple times throughout the day for incidents involving Ladeldrick Blunt, 30, of Gainesville, at his complex Sunday, according to a Gainesville Police arrest report.

During the most recent incident, Blunt got into a physical fight with neighbors in his complex and swung a tire iron at them, the report said.

Later that day, two women were walking on Northeast 18th Street when Blunt pulled into a parking lot next to them, the report said. He rolled his window down and and said, “I got you now.”

He reached into the backseat and pulled a black handgun out of a backpack, according to the report. He pointed the gun at them, and they feared that they were going to be shot.

One of the women told police she thought she was the target because of the issues at the complex earlier in the day, the report said. She lives in the same complex as Blunt and has seen him there for about 8 months.

The women were not involved in the fight with the tire iron, the report said.

While police were conducting their investigation with the woman, Blunt drove by and they recognized him, the report said.

Blunt was charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, the report said.

Blunt was released from the Alachua County Jail Monday afternoon.

Someone who answered a call listed as Blunt’s phone number told The Alligator in a questioning tone, “They said I pulled a gun on them?” and then ended the call.
