UF reported four positive cases out of 309 tests for the final week of June

Feet hit campus grounds for Summer B as daily testing rates declined 95% since Spring.

UF Health tested an average of 888 students daily in mid-April compared to 44 students daily for the final week of June.

Breaking over a week-long streak of all negative cases, UF reported four positive cases out of 309 tests from June 21 to June 27.

The campus rose from a 0% to a 1% seven-day average positivity rate on Wednesday.

Forty-three students and 14 employees are quarantined or in isolation as of Tuesday. Continuing a downward trend, the numbers decreased by six students and three employees since June 22.

As of Tuesday, the total number of positive cases since March 2020 reached 10,081. Of these cases, 7,132 were students, 1,554 were employees and 1,395 were UF affiliates.

Between 70% and 80% of UF students have received a COVID-19 vaccine, according to a UF Health estimate in May. Over 60,0000 vaccines have been administered across UF’s vaccination sites, UF Health President David Nelson said.

The official Alachua County Facebook page reported 136,223 people vaccinated and 25,425 total cases on Friday.

The number of positive cases increased by 67 people and vaccinations by 1,303 people since June 18.

Alachua County reported 285 total deaths since the beginning of the pandemic on June 3.

The Florida Department of Health will no longer release death statistics.
