Florida volleyball 2022 schedule released

Florida’s released schedule includes matchups against in-state rivals, conference competition and even a chance to challenge last year's champion.

With volleyball season approaching in 92 days, the Florida Gators ’ schedule for 2022 has been announced by head coach Mary Wise. 

The Gators 39th regular season will consist of 28 regular season games, including 17 matches at home in Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center in Gainesville. The orange and blue will battle Southeastern Conference opponents Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Arkansas, Missouri and Kentucky in front of their fans.

Florida, coming off its 2021 campaign with a 22-9 record for the season, including a 14-4 record in conference play, will begin the upcoming season with the Gators Invitational. There, it will face off against North Florida, East Tennessee and Virginia in a span of two days (Aug.  26 and 27). 

The Gators will then start their first regular season game at home against Stanford Aug. 30. After Stanford, UF travels to Minneapolis, Minnesota, to face off against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. 

After the short road trip, the Gators host the Sunshine Invitational, facing off against Georgia Southern, Florida Gulf Coast and VCU at Exactech Arena Sept. 9 and10. Two days later, in-state rival Florida State arrives in Gainesville Sept. 13 before the Gators head back on the road to face off against the 2021 National Champion Wisconsin Badgers Sept. 16

The Gators kick off conference play for the first time Sept. 21 as they welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide to campus. 

After this, Florida will take on the role of road warriors, beginning its longest road trip of the 2022 season visiting the South Carolina Gamecocks for a two game series from Sept. 24 and 25 and to Knoxville, Tennessee, to battle the Tennessee Volunteers Oct. 5.

SEC rival Georgia Bulldogs head to The Swamp  Oct.19 before the Gators go back on the road to Auburn, Alabama, to face the Auburn Tigers Oct. 26.

UF ends the month of October at home against Arkansas (Oct. 29 and 30) and then hosts Missouri Nov. 4.

The Gators will be in College Station, Texas, next against the Texas A&M Aggies for a single match Nov. 12. 

The final stretch for the orange and blue at home in the 2022 season will be Nov. 19 and 20 as Florida faces off against Kentucky for a two-game series. 

UF then concludes the regular season in Oxford, Mississippi, playing two games against the Ole Miss Rebels on Nov. 25 and 26.
