The No. 11 Florida lacrosse team (3-2) took down the Arizona State Sun Devils (3-3) 22-6 in Tempe, Arizona, Sunday afternoon. The victory marked the Gators’ third-straight win.

The beginning of the game looked like it was going to be a close battle, but Florida was quick to take the lead by the end of the first quarter.

With 4:24 left in the first quarter, Gators junior midfielder Josie Hahn tied the score at 3-3. Freshman midfielder Gabbi Koury and senior attacker Danielle Pavinelli were quick to follow with back-to-back goals to give Florida the upper hand going into the second quarter.

The Gators outscored ASU 9-1 in the second quarter. Florida also controlled draws in the second, only allowing the Sun Devils to take possession in the draw twice.

Pavinelli recorded a hat trick after scoring once in the first quarter and twice in the second quarter. She also found the net once in the third quarter.

Gators sophomore attacker Gianna Monaco also had a hat trick after two goals in the second quarter and one in the third.

Florida freshman midfielder Alyssa Deacy scored her first collegiate career goal in the fourth quarter.

The Gators offense dominated the field throughout the second half, outscoring the Sun Devils 8-2.

ASU ended the game with just 22 shots, compared to Florida’s 37.

UF senior goalkeeper Georgia Hoey had a save percentage of .615 in the 45 minutes she played. Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Elyse Finnelle took over for the final 15 minutes. She saved four-of-five of the Sun Devils’ shots on goal.

None of Arizona State’s goalkeepers earned a save percentage over .500.

Next, the Gators will continue their west coast trip in San Diego to face UC Davis at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
