Florida lacrosse announced Lindsay Epstein is joining the team as an assistant coach July 25. She joins head coach Amanda O’Leary and assistant coaches Haley Hicklen and Jared Bernhardt on the Gators’ coaching staff.
"It is a dream to be part of a team that is committed to developing student-athletes at the highest level on and off the field,” Epstein said to floridagators.com. “I can't wait to get to work with Coach O'Leary, Haley, and Jared as we continue to build a national powerhouse."
Epstein has experience as both coach and player. She spent the last three years working as an assistant coach for Fairfield University in Connecticut. There, she helped lead the team to two MAAC championships and three appearances in the NCAA tournament.
The Marietta, Georgia native was a midfielder at Ohio State for five seasons. She was a three-time captain for the Buckeyes and earned Honorable Mention All-American honors during her final season. She logged 63 goals, 18 assists, 79 ground balls, 72 draw controls and 46 caused turnovers.
Epstein also earned several academic accolades throughout her collegiate career. She was a four-time Academic All-Big 10 selection. She earned a bachelor's degree in communications before completing her master’s in sports management.
The OSU alum competed in the 2024 European Championships as part of the Israeli national team.
Epstein was an accomplished high school athlete in lacrosse, basketball and golf before going to Ohio State. Her mother and her sister both played collegiate lacrosse.
She joins a Florida team that finished 2024 with a 20-3 record and a Big 12 Championship. UF also made a second consecutive Final Four run.
