Gators football jumped two spots to No. 13 in the Week 2 Associated Press Top 25 poll Tuesday.

It marks the highest poll ranking Florida has received since it ranked No. 12 in the 2022 Week 2 poll.

The Gators, who dominated Long Island 55-0 Saturday, are the fifth-highest ranked Southeastern Conference team, behind No. 3 LSU, No. 4 Georgia, No. 7 Texas and No. 10 South Carolina.

UF is also the second-highest ranked team in the state of Florida, only trailing No. 5 Miami. Florida State ranks at No. 14.

Florida’s opponent this upcoming weekend, South Florida, was not ranked in the top 25 but received 25 votes after USF defeated then-No. 25 Boise State 34-7 Thursday.

“South Florida has got a really good football team,” Florida head coach Billy Napier said Monday. “There’s a lot of upperclassmen that can contribute.”

The Gators will host the Bulls at 4:15 p.m. Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
