Monday Feb 9
Scott Lindroth Guest Composer Presentation UF School of Music, Room 142 3 p.m. Free Scott Lindroth has composed music for major orchestras across the country and teaches at Duke University.
Salvation the Punk Rock Show Civic Media Center 5:30 p.m. Free Hosted by Leigh from WGOT 100.1 FM, the CMC hosts its weekly live show.
Ieva Jokubaviciute Guest Artist Recital UF School of Music, Room 101 7:20 p.m. Free Ieva Jokubaviciute is a critically acclaimed Lithuanian pianist who teaches at Duke University.
Open Mic Night The Bull 7 p.m. Free Signups start at 6 p.m. for the event held every Monday.
Sex Mex, Penance, Future Forms and Homeboys The Backyard at Boca Fiesta & Palomino 8 p.m. $10 Sex Mex, a Texas garage punk band, headlines the show at The Backyard.
Leg Biters, Daydreaming and The Joytraders The Atlantic 8 p.m. $10 Respite Events presents the local punk bands.

Jackson Cavalier Lightnin’ Salvage Enterprises 6 p.m. Free Jackson Cavalier is a folk rock Americana one-man band from New York.
Standard Tuesdays Baby J’s Bar 7 p.m. $7 Brazil Side B plays the weekly jazz event.
UF Symphonic Band Concert #4 University Auditorium 7:20 p.m. Free The UF School of Music presents the UF Symphonic Band Concert #4.
Noogy, Makeup Remover, Dead Sea Lords and Persons Unknown The Atlantic 8 p.m. $10 Noogy, a Texas-based hardcore and ska punk band, plays on its Florida tour, accompanied by local punk and hardcore bands.
Jazzology The Bull 9 p.m. Free Gainesville’s longest standing weekly jazz night is free to the public.

A Drop of the Hard Stuff The Bull 6:30 p.m. Free The Irish sing-along occurs every second Wednesday of the month.
UF Brass Band Concert #3 University Auditorium 7:20 p.m. Free The UF School of Music presents its third brass band concert of the semester.
Impact Driver, Wired Up, Skinwalkers, and Waylon Thorton and The Tomatoes The Ox 8 p.m. $10 Impact Driver, a hardcore punk oi! band from Philadelphia, is joined by local punk bands.

June Star Lightnin’ Salvage Enterprises 6 p.m. Free June Star is an alternative country Americana band from Baltimore.

The Florida Underground Civic Media Center 7:30 p.m. Free Brianna from WGOT 100.1 FM hosts the weekly show.
Tommy Tangie superette wine + provisions 8 p.m. Free DJ and trumpet player Tommy Tangie plays at the Mediterranean bistro.

Valentine’s Swing Dance Jackson N. Sasser Fine Arts Hall Lobby 6:30 p.m. $10 Santa Fe College hosts the swing jazz event with music by the SF Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Combo.
Camille Thurman with the Darrell Green Quartet UpStage at the Phillips Center 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. $12-55 The UpStage event features Camille Thurman, an accomplished composer, saxophonist, vocalist and jazz artist.
Wim Tapley and The Cannons with Twin Suns Heartwood Soundstage 8 p.m. $22 On its Winter tour, Wim Tapley — who blends American, pop and neo-soul — and The Cannons play at Heartwood accompanied by surf-adelic rock band Twin Suns.
Terror Management Band, Diamine and Hawgs Loosey’s Downtown 8 p.m. Free To celebrate the grand opening of guitar store Funky Music’s new location, punk bands perform at Loosey’s.

Don Austin Lightnin’ Salvage Enterprises 6 p.m. Free The musician performs “songs for lovers” at the Valentine’s Day special event.
Raftus Brown One Love Cafe 6 p.m. Free The frontman of Raftus Brown and the Melrose Horns will play solo.
Vincent Neil Emerson with William Prince Heartwood Soundstage 7 p.m. $25 Texas native and country/folk musician Vincent Neil Emerson stops in Gainesville for his “Blue Stars” tour, with Canadian singer-songwriter William Prince.
Tatiana Eva-Marie UpStage at the Phillips Center 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. $12-60 Tatiana Eva-Marie and her band weave together French swing, Roma Manouche rhythms and her original lyrics for the romantic evening.
Insomniac, Loris, Seeker and Colossus The Ox 8 p.m. $10 Heavy psychedelic rock band Insomniac headlines the Respite Events show.
The Slow Death, Too Many Daves and Luke Lecheler Loosey’s Downtown 8 p.m. $10 Minneapolis Americana punk band The Slow Death headline the Valentine’s Day show.

Jasper Smitty with Corey Hall Heartwood Soundstage 7 p.m. $25 The North Central Florida Blues Society presents the two rising blues musicians.
Grave Filth, Smink and Ashen Hills The Ox 8 p.m. $10 Gainesville hardcore metal bands play at The Ox.
