Florida's Pablo Perez Ramos returns a hit during NCAA men's tennis match against Pablo Paternostro of Florida Gulf Coast Univeristy, Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, in Gainesville, Fla.

The Gators men’s tennis team looked to walk out of Dallas with a positive record in the 2026 ITA National Indoors.

And Florida did exactly that, sweeping the doubles portion and three singles competitions against Southern Methodist.

Junior Kevin Edengren carried his success into day three, and rolled with a blowout 6-3, 6-0 victory.

UF dominated SMU (5-5) with a dominating 4-1 win Sunday evening.

Florida (6-3) began strong, winning the doubles point dominantly. Freshman Andreas Timini and Edengren swept SMU’s first team 6-1 as the other two courts were still in play.

Junior star Henry Jefferson and senior Lorenzo Claverie edged away with a 6-4 set win to give UF a 1-0 lead on the evening.

Even though seniors Pablo Perez Ramos and Tanapatt Nirundorn's doubles match was abandoned, it ended in their favor, 6-5.

But this advantage took a slight pause, as the Mustangs quickly took control of half of the singles courts. With the games playing into the evening, the Gators eventually took the reins.

This was evident in Jefferson's play, as he continued his impressive ITA Indoors performance. He brought his all and overwhelmed his opponents, emerging victorious with two 6-4 wins.

Ramos felt the pressure on his back, even in the first set. Two of his teammates were in good positions to win, so it was potentially up to him to secure the final point. His first set went into a crucial tiebreaker set, and he battled to a 7-4 victory to take it. He then sealed the deal with a 6-3 triumph.

Nirundorn also did not tack on a loss to his record. He fell in the first set 6-4 but rebounded with a 6-3 win in the second. His deciding third set was abandoned thanks to Ramos’s win.

Claverie played better today than in previous matches in the tournament. Despite first falling 6-4, he mounted a comeback to lead 5-4 in the second set. Like the others, it was also abandoned.

The only Gator defeated was junior Adhithya Ganesan. He was tasked with the most difficult matchup as he faced the No. 1 singles player, junior Trevor Svajda. He was swept 6-1 in the first set, but despite putting up a better fight, he fell again 7-5.

With a well-rounded performance in the ITA National Indoors, the Gators will pack up and travel to the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn, Alabama, to face the Auburn Tigers (7-1) at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
